De Youtube video heet “Everybody dies but not everybody lives”.
In November 2017 I made a short film called “Everybody eats, but not everybody lives”, also known as “The Vegetables Speech”. In this film you see me talking to the camera, with a hiking outfit walking through the snow. I’m talking about how we can save the planet; by quitting eating vegetables. The general topic of the film is about making a change in your own life and that of others. The short film is 4 minutes and 30 seconds long and is filmed within the school’s green screen studio out of a one eye perspective. This is because of the fact that you, with your eyes, look at me through the screen. For the film I took on the role as actor, director and editor. The vegetable speech is a work based on a motivational video on Youtube. The Youtube video is called “Everybody dies but not everybody lives”. In this video video creator Prince Ea talks in a very motivational way about how to life live and how to get over your fears. He holds a speech for around 6 minutes long that should motivate you to get more out of your life. For my version of this motivational speech I was very much interested in the way Price Ea talks to his viewers, how he tries to convince them and what the image does to make his text stronger. My goal by making a new version on this YouTube film was to get the same motivation but in a different context. What if we get motivated to do something that we should not do? Is that considered propaganda?
